Why Show With Us?

The Hastings County Riding Club, located in Shannonville, Ontario, is a friendly local club with something for everyone! We hold four competitions a year at the Melrose Fairgrounds, home of the Shannonville World's Fair, and we host the Fair Horse Show. Our Year-End Awards Banquet takes place in the Fall at the newly built Shannonville Recreation Center on-location at the Fairgrounds, the conclusi...on of what we all work so hard for all season. The Club is well-known for it's welcoming, relaxed atmosphere and all-around fun. Our class list has something for every horse and rider, with everything from Hunter, Jumper, Leadline and Walk/Jog, English Pleasure and Equitation, Halter, Western Showmanship, Western Pleasure and Horsemanship, Barrel Racing, and other classes like Show Hack, Command, Western Trail, Junior Horse Pleasure and a Combination Games class. Our membership is no small affair and as testament to the Club's versatility, we have many riders and horses of every level, from beginner to advanced.

Melrose Meadows, which began in 2012, is an off-shoot of HCRC and is strictly a hunter circuit. We focus on grass roots showing, both in sportsmanship and competition. We offer a wide array of division, from Hunter Hack, Crossrails, all the way up to 2'6 Hunter. We also offer speciality classes including Equitation and Hunter Derbies.

We pride ourselves on offering a schooling show circuit that acts as a stepping stone to Trillium. We work hard to ensure quality courses, quality and unique jumps, professional and experienced judges, as well as a competitive and FUN atmosphere.
